About

Our Mission

At Wilson School, 4 > 2 is more than just math— it's a way of life. We believe it is GREATER to do things FOR others rather than TO others.

A 4 > 2 Family of Learners

Wilson Elementary Staff Values

  • Integrity
  • Commitment
  • Understanding, Helping, and Serving Others
  • Rewarding and Supportive Relationships

Wilson Elementary School is a friendly neighborhood school with a dedicated staff committed to helping students achieve academic success. The teachers at Wilson Elementary School are dedicated to ensuring that each individual student meets and exceeds their academic goals. The staff takes pride in its commitment to developing future community members, one student at a time.

Students at Wilson have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of activities outside of the school day, including Student Council, Homework Club, and after-school sports, among others. Many parents generously volunteer their time for the Wilson PTO, which plans multiple family events throughout the year. In past years, the PTO has been able to donate a substantial amount of money to purchase playground equipment and provide additional funding for the school. The PTO hosts an annual Fall Fest, which is a highlight of the school year for school families and school neighbors alike.

PBIS

What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is dedicated to teaching and encouraging safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors. We celebrate students for making positive choices that align with our school expectations. When a student needs assistance in meeting these expectations, we provide guidance to help them learn the appropriate behavior. If necessary, an Office Discipline Referral (ODR) may be issued, but our primary goal is to support each student's growth.

Achievement Gap Reduction

The Achievement Gap Reduction (AGR) program, established by the Wisconsin State Legislature in 2015, is an initiative to close achievement gaps and foster student success. Schools participating in AGR have the opportunity to implement one of three effective strategies:

  • Reducing Class Sizes: This approach allows for more individualized attention, ensuring that each student feels supported and engaged.

  • Providing Instructional Coaching for Teachers: By enhancing data-driven practices through coaching, teachers can deliver even more effective instruction and support for their students.

  • Offering One-to-One or Small-Group Tutoring: This targeted support helps students receive the personalized assistance they need to excel academically.
